She has won several awards during her seven-year writing career from the USA, Oman, Peru, Kazakhstan, Seychelles, and India.

A word with a famous author with meteoric rises,
Hearing about the other award our former guest, Brenda Mohammed added to her bag I have emailed her about her feelings and new developments.
Herald:- You are achieving success after success. How do you describe your feelings?
Brenda:- Alem, While I feel elated with each success, I am still the same simple Brenda, who enjoys the simple things in life. I can only say that these successes motivate me to write more. To date, I have written 27 books and ten of them are bestsellers.
Herald:- Could you tell us the secret behind your success?
Brenda:- Alem, there is no secret to success.
Many people have asked me this question and my answer has always been to keep focused in whatever you do, remain persistent, and never give up.
Herald:- What do you advise aspiring writers who dream to follow in your footsteps?
Brenda:- I advise them to read my book, ‘How to Write for Success.’
The five- star reviews I received for that book are many.
In that book, I have stated in every chapter, how to be a successful writer.
Many who have read it have benefited and are successful writers today.
Herald:- In the post-Covid-19 era the order of things has changed. The same is true of authorship and readership. What can you say about this? How do you see books as a favorite pastime?
Brenda:- Yes. Life has changed. Many are turning to Literature because it has remained constant.
I see an increase in writers and readers in the Literary forums, Motivational Strips, the world’s most active writers’ forum, which now has 7.3 million visitors a month and writers from 163 countries.
Shiju H Pallithazheth is the Founder of Motivational Strips and I am Regional Director – Operations.
As Founder of How to Write for Success Literary forum, I have also seen a large increase in membership.
Herald:- Given your meteoric rise in the field of literature shall we expect a Noble prize?
Brenda: Alem, I have not yet dreamt of such an achievement, but I leave that one for the Almighty if he so wills it.

Steadfast Resolve

A solid footing and strong roots are essential in trying times as well as in good ones because there will be test and if this steadfast resolve isn’t firmly in place the test will knock you over without hesitation…

The test of life will never cause defeat with a strong root system. Standing on solid ground and having strong roots are essential in trying times as well as in the seemingly good times because the test will come regardless. How deep the roots are will determine how much can be withstood. Being on solid ground when the test comes sometimes seems as though they hit a breaking point, but a steadfast resolve to stay firmly rooted in truth will return you to your strong foundation. This occurs not because you are strong, but because you are firmly rooted, this provides the support needed in the midst of any test.

Many things will test your resolve in life, but understand it’s not life doing it, it’s just the nature of how things are. The important thing is to have roots strong enough to bend but not break. Circumstances and other people’s belief will test you and without deep roots you will succumb to the pressure. It will be difficult not to be able to resist and it will be as though you become uprooted, but understand you are as strong and as resilient as your root system so make them as deep as possibly so when a test does come your way, you may bend a bit, but you will have the support and a steadfast resolve not to break…

LOVE MAKING: A Haiku Sequence

pre-morning mushrooms

blooming on the pubes:

dreamy arousal

love-making

he melts into her

time stands still

love-making

the sound of orgasm:

Lao Tzu

making love

she tastes the salt upon

his shoulder

candling in vein

leaves marks of teeth on her neck

utters holiness

unzipping her back—

hundreds of nights grow wings

with wasp touch

unclothing

the white night:

lips meeting lips

writes with strands of

watery hair on her  bare back

a love haiku

after the tumble

buried between the sheets

leftover passion

she departs

leaving behind her clothes

over mine

still lingers

her scent on the linens

drying in shade

I DON'T KNOW

I don’t know how to negotiate the long steep trail

with hidden scorpions under loose rocks

at home with human muck in a valley existence

strolling upward through a thicket of TV images

politics of glory, garbage and god

the odd arts of money, hierarchy and control

nobody knows who unmakes whom

I don’t know how to follow the ridges

back to the trail and the dead river

but stand for a moment to rub the sand from my feet

before worrying about the lost vitality and fear

of the approaching night and rising smoke

dissolving in the sky or conspiring with elements

hardly in balance but contorting the psyche

I don’t know what is there for me to hope

when the rains rejuvenate and flood both

the repulsive stench and the loss of pathways

linger longer than the flavor of the first drops

under the tree the puddle feeds no sparrows

but algae that couldn’t dry now trap tiny souls

that fail to swell with heaven’s breath
