The Reincarnation of the Daughters of the Great Chief Powhatan

Would you say a million to one? Probably a few more millions than that! What am I talking about you ask? The 2500 reincarnation or past-life readings of the legendary American mystic, Edgar Cayce, include actual readings for FOUR of the reincarnated daughters of Chief Powhatan, and none of them can be regarded conclusively as his most famous daughter, Pocahontas. Here are their stories.

"27. Before this the entity was in the land of the present sojourn, in the land of the present nativity; in that period when there were the early settlings in the land. 28. The entity then was a princess, of the household of those that were in authority over all of the league of the peoples of the land during that experience; and thus closely in associations and in companionships with those that became the founders of the land of the present nativity. 29. Hence we find, as the daughter - the second daughter of Powhatan, bringing into the experience much that made for material and mental advancement; not only for self and for its own peoples but for all of the nations. 30. For the whole history, from the material angle, was changed by the activities of the entity much more than by that entity who so far as history is concerned set the change. 31. Then in the name Night Bird, the entity gained. For through those associations, those activities, those things pertaining to the formation of governmental activities as related to state, as related to the social life, all were a portion of the entity's activity and experience." [Reading 1506-1]

"12. Before this (that influences the entity in the early portion of the development in this particular experience or environ) we find the entity was in the present land of nativity, adjoining those influences [DS: souls] in which the entity came into this present activity. For the entity then was among those people that inhabited the land when there were the settlings of the English in the land; being then a daughter of the Chief of those people that made peace with those in and about Williamsburg, Jamestown, and the adjoining lands; and was a Princess then, in the name Ptheula (if it were translated into English letters, or pronounced Patahala ). Its meaning was that it made for the closer relationships with those over whom and with whom the Chief ruled; or peace among the brethren. 13. ... being thrown much with those peoples with whom peace was made, brought then much of strength to her own peoples, as well as to those of the settlements ... 34. (Q) To what tribe did she belong, or who was the Chief, in the one just before this? (A) Powhatan. [324-5]

Young Miss 324's grandfather, Mr. 289, asked about their past lives together.

"51. (Q) Give associations with my granddaughter, [324], who was a daughter of Indian Chief Powhatan? and why was she part white? (A) She was a part of a group that had been taken hostage, and thus the associations brought about such relationships. In the latter portion, we find, when there were the preparations for the sending of this entity to England, there were the periods of disturbance. A close friendship throughout that period." [289-9]

Mr. 289's reading also indicated that he had been one of the early settlers in the area, [by the name of Amos Scott, [DS: and had] "... the close associations with the Indian chief, ...". [289-9]

"16. Before this the entity was in the land of the present nativity, among the peoples of this particular land when there were the incomings of others that made the greater changes that were coming about ... 17. The entity then was a princess of the tribes of Powhatan, chief of many nations. Then in the name Narwaua (or Nancen), the entity made for the closer relationships with the peoples that came to that particular portion of the entity's sojourning or abiding. And aid, help and strength came to the entity, and to those about the entity; not only in the healings but in how there was the use of those things from the field, the forest, the ground, the air, and their combinations, that might make for the changing or the meeting of the various experiences in health, accident, or in the expressions of same in the bodies of men. Not as a medicine man, but rather as one that aided in the gathering of the herbs of the field and the forest for the use of those things pertaining to the healing arts." [884-1]

"3. In the experiences as we find, that in the one previous to this has in the PRESENT that of the greater influence upon the entity in the present. ... for the entity then the Princess to Powhatan's peoples in Virginia, and the name Rising Star, and a half-sister then of that NOTED one Pocahontas. ... 10. In the one before this in this present land, and among those peoples that were found in the land by the first settlers. The entity then a Princess to those peoples, yet - as was termed - one possessed with those visions that came from the waters, as were from the moon and the stars, and howling of dogs as came about, ... The entity then became the companion of one of the settlers that came in, later in middle life, ..." [543-11]

Rising Star's companion here was apparently one John Bainbridge, a previous incarnation of Edgar Cayce.

You have been briefly introduced to four of Chief Powhatan's daughters. There is some speculation that Ptheula, mentioned above, was the Powhatan daughter that became famous as Pocahontas, because of the reference in 289-9 to her being sent to England, but there is no solid proof to back up the speculation. The historical records on Pocahontas show that she did indeed go to England in 1616 and was received there with great fanfare, but more about that a little later. First, we shall introduce you to two significant men in Pocahontas' life, other than Chief Powhatan.

"9. Before this the entity was in that period, in and about the present land of nativity, when there were the first settlings in the land. 10. The entity then was that one who came to the land, termed or called (though, as may be seen from history, it was not his name) John Smith." [415-1]

Captain John Smith was a sea-faring adventurer and prolific writer whose accounts of the early American settlers and their Native American friends and enemies have provided historians with invaluable records of the early 1600's, but the stories of Pocahontas and John Smith have become rather embellished over the past 400 years. Apparently a young, teenage Pocahontas did save John Smith's life, but the rest of the story may be more fiction than fact. I will leave you with the chore of researching the true history if you are so inclined.

Seven or eight years after Pocahontas rescued John Smith from imminent death, she did marry, in 1614 and with the consent of Powhatan, an English settler by the name of John Rolfe.

"9. In the one then before this we find in that land of the present nativity, and during that period when there was the settling of the land in and about that now known as Virginia - or virgin land. The entity then among those peoples who settled in the land, and among those of the nobles of the land, and one who sacrificed self - in some manners and respects; for the entity was in the name Rolfe. In this experience the entity gained through the experience, and the name, the accomplishments of the entity - as a member of the council in the period - may YET be seen, be known." [2661-1]

In 1616, John Rolfe, with Pocahontas and their son Thomas, sailed to England where Pocahontas was received as a royal princess. Unfortunately, a year later at the beginning of their return trip to America, Pocahontas took ill and died. She was buried at Gravesend, England.

I suspect that you now know a little more about the daughters of Chief Powhatan than you likely did before you began to read this article. I hope you consider our journey together worthwhile.

Jesus’ Visit with the Woman of Samaria at Jacob’s Well

The Gospel of John, Chapter 4, recounts the story of the Samaritan woman who is approached by Jesus for a drink of water at Jacob's well. We are fortunate that the Edgar Cayce readings contain accounts of past incarnations for the Woman of Samaria, two of her sisters, and others from the nearby local village. Throughout the article you will notice comments or additional information inserted in brackets. My comments commence with my initials, [DS: ]. All other comments or additions are in the Edgar Cayce readings.

"4. ... even as the entity has held Him, as that "He has told ME all I ever did [John 4:29] - Is He not the one that shall redeem Israel?" [DS: This quote may appear to you to have been parachuted in out of nowhere, but it is about to make more sense.] 8. In the one then before this we find during that period when the Master walked in the earth, and this entity that one to whom the Master spoke at the well in the way, [John 4:7, Woman of Samaria] and a sister then of those that later became messengers and understanders of that being taught. ... and that understanding as gained then, as Jodie in this experience, ..." [Reading 451-2] Unfortunately, in Miss 451's reading, we are given no further details of the events from those few days that Jesus and His disciples spent as guests of the villagers near Jacob's well. But do not fret! The following readings for other villagers supply us with some interesting information.

Mrs. 428 was the mother of Miss 451, above, at the time of Edgar Cayce, but in their incarnations in the village near Jacob's well, they had been sisters. "9. In the one, then, before this, we find in that period when the Master walked in the earth, and when He went to and fro through the land. The entity was among those of the city who came to the well to hear those truths as propounded in that day, and was a SISTER of the woman at the well. In the name Josie." [428-4]

Mrs. 428 was not satisfied with this teaser of a comment. She wanted details, and requested a single-life reading on her incarnation as Josie. "3. In the experience in the presence of the Prince of Peace, the entity then was the sister to the one who called the people from the village near the well, and who with those that heeded the lessons that were gained through that meeting - established the church that later was ministered to by many of those who were His apostles and teachers; and particularly by Philip, Stephen, Peter, Paul, Apollos. 4. ... who were made strong in the love of Him that taught, "Not in this mountain, nor yet in Jerusalem" - but even in thine own heart may be the awakening, quickened by the love of the Father, through the Son, ..." [428-5]

A sister to Jodie and Josie also had an Edgar Cayce reading. "12. In the one before this we find in that land now called the Holy Land, and about that land where the Master walked - the entity then a sister of she whom the entity met at the well in the land, and the entity came to know of that ministry, following afar; yet later becoming one of those that SPREAD those glad tidings to those in Mount Seir. In the name Selmaa." [2112-1]

Let us now meet others who witnessed The Master’s visit to Jacob’s well that day. "32. Before that we find the entity during those periods when the Master walked in the earth was in that land now known as or called THEN Galilee and Samaria. 33. Then entity came in close contact with the Master when the Master spoke to the woman at the well and many of those in the city who came out to see Him.

“34. Though then young in years, the entity was impressed not only by the gentleness and kindness of the disciples, especially the Master, but later when there were the gatherings of the many in Jerusalem for the feasts - that more and more became a part of the Samaritans as His teachings had advanced - the entity then was among those of the crowd that were in the triumphal entry into Jerusalem. 43. The name then was Jeaniel - of the Samaritans ... " [1552-1]

Another individual from the village near the well was also so moved by the events that took place on those days when Jesus and His disciples tarried with the villagers, that she also became active in the early church. "18. The entity then was among those women who in the latter portion of His sojourn journeyed from afar; being of those who came to the sojourns in the land from the teachings the Master had given to those about the well, in the land of the Samaritan peoples. The entity was not of the household of that one spoken to, but rather the associate and companion of one of those who joined in the message given by the woman at the well.

“20. Hence in the activity the entity became, in the latter portion of the experience, joined with those who met in the upper chamber. [DS: The upper chamber was a larger second story room in a building where Zebedee, the father of the Apostles James and John the Beloved, conducted his wholesale fish business. This upper chamber was used by Jesus and His disciples for their meetings in Jerusalem. The Last Supper was held there.] And the feelings, the innate expressions that arise in the entity from the reading of those particular activities in the first chapters recorded in Acts, have to the entity a significance that is not experienced in other portions; save in those that deal with the visits of the man of Galilee, the man who walked among His fellow man that others might be shown the way for the more perfect understanding. 21. Then the entity was in the name Phoebe, and in the latter portion of the entity's sojourn - when the persecution activities began in the city, the entity again journeyed into the land of its birth, or into Galilee, to become associated rather with Andrew, Bartholomew, Jude, and those who became the ministers in that land." [379-3]

The readings do not provide us with a complete account of the activities of Jesus and His disciples from those few days that they spent as guests of the villagers near Jacob's well, but the information they do contain is an addition to the facts related in the Gospel of John, Chapter 4.

We Lived in Atlantis - Did You

Are you aware of your past lifetimes in the lost continent of Atlantis? Some people are.

If you happen to be unfamiliar with the name, Edgar Cayce, the most probable reason is that you hail from a younger generation.  Edgar Cayce, the legendary American mystic, is regarded by many as America’s Nostradamus. Edger passed on in 1945 but he left behind an enormous legacy of unimaginably accurate psychic readings on an unusually diverse assortment of topics.  It is estimated that Edgar gave more than 15,000 psychic readings in his lifetime but in the earlier years the copies of his readings, primarily medical readings, were not retained, and the only record of the reading was given or sent to the individual requesting the reading.

Today, Edgar’s Association for Research and Enlightenment is still a thriving, charitable foundation in Virginia Beach, Virginia, where members (membership is definitely not expensive) can view copies of over 14,000 complete Edgar Cayce psychic readings.  Approximately 10,000 of these readings are medical readings, about 2500 are classified as life or reincarnation readings, and the remainder of the readings cover topics as diverse as domestic relations, the stock market and real estate investment, creation, the life and times of Jesus and those close to Him, as well as numerous other subjects. Well over 300 books, including over 30 biographies have been written using Edgar’s amazing readings.

I have researched the Edgar Cayce readings for many years, in particular the 2500 life or reincarnation readings for 2000 individuals. Over 600 of these life readings included incarnations from the lost continent of Atlantis. I have organized just over 500 of these Atlantis-related readings in a basically although not entirely chronological order so as to present a partial history of Atlantis. I have identified these 500 recipients using the information provided at the beginning of each Edgar Cayce reading, which includes date of birth, place of birth, current location, occupation, and religious affiliation in some cases. Actual names are not revealed.

Yes, over 600 people know about their past lifetimes in Atlantis. Are you curious?

Edgar Cayce Explains the Sources of Psychic Information

For those readers who are not familiar with Edgar Cayce, I will give you a very brief history of the man regarded by many as America's greatest mystic. Edgar Cayce was born in rural Kentucky on March 18, 1877, and passed on in Virginia Beach, Virginia on January 3, 1945. He gave over 15,000 psychic readings in a coma-like trance state and there are copies of over 14,000 of these readings at his Association for Research and Enlightenment, or A.R.E. for short, in Virginia Beach. Approximately 10,000 of these readings were medical readings where in his deep-trance state he diagnosed medical problems and prescribed remedies, including prescriptions which had not yet been invented. Many of these patients who received medical readings had been classified as hopeless by their medical practitioners and had come to Edgar Cayce as a last resort. Over 300 books have been written about Edgar Cayce and his readings, including at least 30 biographies.  For more information on Edgar Cayce you should visit the A.R.E. website at www.edgarcayce.org. If you would like to read the article that made Edgar Cayce a national celebrity, go to:

http://query.nytimes.com/mem/archive-free/pdf?_r=1&res=9C06EFD71239E433A2575AC0A9669D946196D6CF

or you can read it on the Edgar Cayce website at

http://www.cayce.com/nytimes.htm .

The date was July 1, 1934. The setting was Virginia Beach, at the residence of the legendary American mystic, Edgar Cayce. The special occasion was the Third Annual Meeting, which they referred to as a Congress, of the Association for Research and Enlightenment. Over 50 members were present. At each annual meeting, after the business affairs had been dispensed with, Edgar would enter his deep-trance state and give a reading on a topic chosen by the membership. Much of reading 5752-6 is reproduced below. Similar to the Bible, paragraphs in readings have been assigned a number, which I do not delete. Items in the brackets [DS: ... ] have been inserted by me for clarification purposes.

"1. GC [DS: She was Gertrude Cayce, Edgar's wife. Gertrude acted as the conductor for the majority of Edgar's readings. The conductor served a crucial purpose, not only by asking the appropriate questions to elicit the desired answers, but also to prompt the in-trance Edgar at precisely the correct time as he descended deeper and deeper into trance. The reading conductors had learned through experience that there was an exceptionally narrow window-of-opportunity for the commencement of the instructions to Edgar as to the purpose of the upcoming reading. If they waited too long before giving the prompt to begin, Edgar would proceed into such a deep-trance state that he could not respond, and often remained in that deep-trance state for eight to twelve hours. No one could bring him back out of this extra-deep trance. He would eventually awake on his own, totally refreshed, as if he had enjoyed a wonderful night's sleep.]: You will give at this time a discourse on the Sources of Psychic Information.

2. EC [DS: Edgar Cayce, of course]: Yes,  ... In giving that which may be helpful or beneficial to those that are gathered here, let there be first given that psychic is from without to the within - or the movement upon that which makes for responses with the individual as to make the individual aware of the fact that there is taking place that which produces a change, if the individual will be moved by same. Hence as life is spirit, spirit is God, the true source of psychic force must come from that which is OF that force that may make aware in the experience the individual, the soul, the fact of His presence abiding ever.

3. ...   He is in thine own heart, and thy spirit beareth witness with His Spirit that ye are - or not - the children of God.

4. ...  That there are then as many sources for the activity of the force that may make manifest the God-influence as there may be ideas or activities in the experience of any soul must be evidenced by the EXPERIENCES of all.

5. ...  As to how such manifestations of psychic soul forces may manifest or become conscious to an individual, in the material world ye say it is through that which makes for awareness in thine own PARTICULAR realm of experience, or through thine senses; yea, through many more. For, as all force IS OF Him, as ye seek ye may know.

6. As to how, when and where that experience may be thine depends upon what, where and when ye look within; ...

7. Then, the source is FROM on High, if the seeking is from the soul within.  ...

8. ...  seekest thou that ye may lord thine self above thine brother, above thine neighbor, the answers come only from those sources, those souls that have forsaken His way.

9. ...  Seek to know Him, and that thou receivest in thine experiences - as ye approach through all those channels that may attune themselves to the throne of grace - will be the knowledge and understanding that, "As ye do it unto the least of these, my little ones, ye do it unto me."

10. What seekest thou? The Spirit of Truth, or that thou may justify thyself in thine own carnal self? Each may be found. ...

11. What are the sources of psychic information? What seekest thou? What art THOU willing to give for thine own soul? ...

12. They that love His coming will only approach in such a way and manner that though the heavens fall, though the earth may pass away, His word, His promise in them shall NOT pass away. Only in such an attitude, such an understanding, may the Spirit of Truth come in unto thee. Seek ye not lower, if ye would FIND that which will bring rest unto thy soul!"

It seems apparent from this reading that true psychic abilities are not gifts from God, but are actually abilities earned through the progression of our souls through many incarnations where we have understood and followed the teachings of Jesus, the immaculately conceived son of God.

Edgar Cayce’s Story of the Mayan History

For those readers who are not familiar with Edgar Cayce, I will give you a very brief history of the man regarded by many as America's legendary mystic.

For more information on Edgar Cayce you should visit the A.R.E. website at www.edgarcayce.org .  If you would like to read the article that made Edgar Cayce a national celebrity, on the New York Times website, go to:

With all of the excitement that went around concerning the Mayan prophecies for the year 2012, I thought that it would be an appropriate time to look at the information in a specific Edgar Cayce reading requested on the origin and development of the Mayan civilization.  The excerpts below are quoted from Reading 5750-1, taken November 12, 1933.  Similar to the Bible, all paragraphs in an Edgar Cayce reading have been assigned a number.

1. HLC: [HLC was Hugh Lynn Cayce, Edgar's first born.  Hugh Lynn acted as the conductor or guide for this reading.  The conductor played an important role in a reading, as poor instructions resulted in incomplete readings.]  You will give an historical treatise on the origin and development of the Mayan civilization, answering questions.

5. From time as counted in the present we would turn back to 10,600 years before the Prince of Peace came into the land of promise, and find a civilization being disturbed by corruption from within to such measures that the elements join in bringing devastation to a stiffnecked and adulterous people.

6. With the second and third upheavals in Atlantis, there were individuals who left those lands and came to this particular portion then visible.

9. Then, with the leavings of the civilization in Atlantis (in Poseidia, more specific), Iltar - with a group of followers  ...  left this land Poseidia, and came westward, entering what would now be a portion of Yucatan. And there began, with the activities of the peoples there, the development into a civilization that rose much in the same matter as that which had been in the Atlantean land.

10. The first temples that were erected by Iltar and his followers were destroyed at the period of change physically in the contours of the land. That now being found, and a portion already discovered that has laid in waste for many centuries, was then a combination of those peoples from Mu, Oz and Atlantis.

14. The stones that are circular, that were of the magnetized influence upon which the Spirit of the One spoke to those peoples as they gathered in their service, are of the earliest Atlantean activities in religious service, we would be called today.

16. The pyramid, the altars before the doors of the varied temple activities, was an injection from the people of Oz and Mu; and will be found to be separate portions, and that referred to in the Scripture as high places of family altars, family gods, ...

21. (Q) Have the most important temples and pyramids been discovered?
(A) Those of the first civilization have been discovered, and have not all been opened; but their associations, their connections, are being replaced - or attempting to be rebuilt. Many of the second and third civilization may NEVER be discovered, for these would destroy the present civilization in Mexico to uncover same!

22. (Q) By what power or powers were these early pyramids and temples constructed?
(A) By the lifting forces of those gases that are being used gradually in the present civilization, and by the fine work or activities of those versed in that pertaining to the source from which all power comes.

For, as long as there remains those pure in body, in mind, in activity, to the law of the One God, there is the continued resource for meeting the needs, or for commanding the elements and their activities in the supply of that necessary in such relations.

The reading goes on to explain that the records in the temple that was destroyed in the final destruction of Atlantis, yet may someday be discovered, plus the records that will eventually be found in the temple or hall of records in Egypt, and those records contained in the temple erected by Iltar, are, in the words of the in-trance Edgar Cayce, "The RECORDS are ONE."

Edgar Cayce’s Story of Stonehenge

For those readers who are not familiar with Edgar Cayce, I will give you a very brief history of the man regarded by many as America's legendary mystic.

After medical readings, the next largest group of Edgar Cayce readings was reincarnation or past-life readings.  What exactly is a reincarnation reading?  An individual, a parent or legal guardian of a child, or a caretaker of an incapacitated adult could request a past-life reading for the purpose of obtaining information about the past lives of the individual, information which might be beneficial in planning the future of this individual. Most of us have had dozens of previous incarnations. The Heavenly Source of Edgar Cayce's information would reveal relevant information for not all but only those past-life experiences which had a karmic connection to the current incarnation. Some readings, especially those for children, contained comments that further information could be revealed in the future when or if the individual were better prepared to understand or deal with the withheld information.

The Edgar Cayce archives contain approximately 2500 past-life readings for some 2000 individuals, and four of these past-life readings revealed informative details of incarnations near Stonehenge.  The name Stonehenge does not appear in any of the readings, but they instead refer to the alters near what is now the town of Salisbury in England.  Salisbury is eight miles from Stonehenge.  The four readings we are going to look at here tie Stonehenge to a migration of refugees who were descendants of Biblical King Hezekiah, the thirteenth King of Judah.  These refugees were escaping the onslaught of Babylonian King Nebuchadnezzar, and sailed to the coast of modern-day England.  Stonehenge is about thirty miles from the English Channel.

Archaeologists believe that Stonehenge was erected by more than one civilization.  Our migrants from the Holy Land may not have been the first civilization to settle in the vicinity of Stonehenge, but they were responsible for some of the construction at the site, and their contribution was for religious purposes.  It is time to look at the readings.

Reading 3581-1 gets us started. Similar to the Bible, each paragraph in an Edgar Cayce reading has been assigned a number. I prefer to leave the paragraph numbers in my articles so that those readers who have access to the Edgar Cayce readings can easily locate the excerpts quoted. "23. Before that the entity was in the English land during those periods when there were those journeyings into that land from the Holy Land, when the children of Hezekiah prompted many of those even in authority to leave the Holy Land because of Nebuchadnezzar's activities.  24. The entity was young in years when it came into the coasts of England where altars were set up to tie up the meanings of "The Lord thy God is one. ... " 25. The name then was Jeheuh. The entity gained greatly."

Reading 3590-1 mentions Salisbury.  "16. Before that the entity was in the English land during those periods when there was the breaking up of the tribes of Israel. 17. The entity was a granddaughter of Hezekiah the king, and among those who set sail to escape when the activities brought the rest of the people into servitude in the Persian land. 18. Then the entity was among those who landed and set up the seat of customs as indicated in the altars built near what is now Salisbury, England. These were the early traditions carried into those activities. 19. The name then was Elemeshia. The entity gained in the ability as a leader, in the ability to influence others, the ability to control the activities of individuals in such a way as to make for the forming of moral habits and ideas in their material experiences."

Reading 3645-1 adds more details to the uses of Stonehenge.  "16. Before that the entity was in the Holy Land when there were those breakings up in the periods when the land was being sacked by the Chaldeans and Persians. 17. The entity was among those groups who escaped in the ships that settled in portions of the English land near what is now Salisbury, and there builded those altars that were to represent the dedications of individuals to a service of a living God.  18. Thus the entity aided in giving the records and teachings that may help others in the present, in giving to others that helping hand - who may be as a record keeper. 19. The name then was Mayra."

Lastly, we have reading 5384-1.  "9. Before that we find the entity was in the English land in the early settlings of the children of Israel who were foregathered with the daughters of Hezekiah in what is now Somerland, Somerhill or Somerset. There the entity saw group organization for the preservation of tenets and truths of the living God, ...  13. The name then was Ruth."

I realize that the information in the Edgar Cayce readings cannot come close to answering all of our questions about the origins of Stonehenge, but some important facts are provided.  One civilization near Stonehenge was comprised of refugees from the Holy Land who were relatives and subjects of King Hezekiah, and who had sailed from the mainland to the coast of England to escape the conquering King Nebuchadnezzar.  These immigrants did build alters on the Stonehenge site to worship their one God.
